Our first meeting with Lauren was in July 2018, after we shared our high-level goals with her and admitted that we weren't 100% committed to buying. Ever the gracious partner, Lauren chose a quiet bar near my office for us to meet, and we spent over an hour chatting about the market and getting an overview of how the home-buying process works in NYC, which is a unique real estate market to say the least. Lauren could probably tell that we weren't committed to buying and were at the very early stages of our search, and she reiterated multiple times that there was no pressure for us to do anything or work with her, but that we could always consider her a resource, regardless of what path we chose to go down. It wasn't until Christmastime that we eventually reached back out to Lauren, after seeing some apartments on our own that we liked but feeling in the dark in terms of how to bid, best practices, etc. Lauren literally answered our call over Christmas break while at home with her family and quickly set up a full-day agenda of places for us to see the first week of January when sellers and brokers were back from the holiday break. The itinerary was thoughtfully and strategically planned, starting in Brooklyn Heights, then up to the West Village, and then ending on the UWS (the three neighborhoods that we were focused on). She accompanied us to all of the apartments and gave her candid feedback - good and bad - on each spot. Lo and behold, it was on that day that we found our new home! The bidding process was exceptionally stressful for my husband and me, as we didn't initially have a good sense of whether the apartment we wanted was "a good deal." Lauren counseled us (in more ways than one!) through this process and helped us land at a price that we felt comfortable with and was a winning number. She also forged a strong working relationship with the seller's broker, which brought more transparency and intention to the process, and helped remove all of the guesswork and "games" that can sometimes happen. Once our offer was accepted, Lauren pretty much took over the process, efficiently collecting our personal information and putting together the monstrous board package (over 1,000 pages!) with super close attention to detail. She did not want any careless mistakes to delay the process or hurt our chances of getting approved by the Board. When the Board interview finally happened, Lauren coached us on how to navigate that process, and we were relieved when the Board told us at the end of our interview that they planned to approve us. It's also worth mentioning that Lauren was consistently positive, upbeat, friendly, solution-oriented, super responsive, super accountable, and helpful in every way throughout the process. We would absolutely welcome the opportunity to work with Lauren again when the time comes. It was a joy and a pleasure partnering with her, and we miss her now that the process is over
